EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques (sometimes called Tapping) and, in essence, it is an emotional version of acupuncture, except without the use of needles. Instead, we stimulate certain meridian points on the body by tapping on them with our fingertips.
The meridian points in our body are like the electrical outlets in our homes and the meridian lines are like the wiring that connects them.
If the wires in our home get cut or blocked then electricity can’t flow through them and all our electrical appliances or lights go on the fritz. Well, it’s pretty much the same with us. We are all energy after all. So if the energy flow in our bodies get disrupted or blocked in any way then we start feeling sick AND if we ignore the signs and symptoms eventually these can show up as physical disease or pain, or emotional discomfort such as fears, phobias, anxiety, stress, and depression. Is this not why our western medicine refer to some illnesses as psychosomatic??
EFT, in it’s simplest description, combines Mind-Body Medicine by means of acupressure (via fingertip Tapping).
Although it is still often overlooked, emotional health is absolutely essential to your physical health and healing. No matter how devoted you are to a healthy diet and lifestyle, you will not achieve your body’s ideal healing and preventative powers if emotional barriers stand in your way. EFT is the psychological acupressure technique recommended to optimize your emotional health.
EFT is very easy to learn, and will help you:
- Remove Negative Emotions
- Reduce Food Cravings
- Reduce or Eliminate Pain
- Implement Positive Goals
So is EFT Tapping is better than everything else and that all other methods should be dropped? No – EFT is different and unique in its approach and, thus, actually belongs in everyone’s toolbox.
